Ever step back and consider how you function? Seriously, are you the type of person who is always completing an assignment, a presentation, a project with not one second to spare? You have a full plate of work and activities to do and the ones you complete are the ones due for completion either tomorrow or in maybe one hour from right now.

How long have you been functioning in this manner? You may not realize that this may not be the optimal way to function, being the person who is constantly trying to catch up. The person who never has any time for anything else to be added to their full plate as they do not have one minute to spare. The person who is always on the clock to meet their deadline.

This person is not able to receive feedback. This person is difficult to be on a team with.
This person will not see opportunity, if opportunity was staring at them right between their eyes.

If you are the owner of your company, or the CEO, and you are operating in the mode of
‘no time for one more thing’, your schedule is full every single day. If this is you, when do you lead? When do you connect with your workforce? When do you inspire your team? When do you reflect on the vision, the mission, and the big picture?

Consider for yourself what is the best use of your time if you only have a few moments today to complete anything, what would it be?

If you know you will have a few moments every single day, what is the best use of those moments?

Here is my challenge to you. It does not matter what walk of life you are on, it is the same challenge. You are now functioning with blinders on. Your complete focus is narrowly upon the near term objectives. This makes your vision and your thinking narrow. If every single person were handed opportunity, they would be appreciative and excited. The problem is with blinders on, and with a narrow focus, you are not able to recognize opportunity.

You miss the opportunity to mentor an employee. You miss the opportunity to create a more solid team. You miss the opportunity to merge your business with another business owner who has hinted they would be interested. You miss the opportunity to connect with your family, your spouse, and your children.

Is any of this speaking to you? Do you see yourself, or someone you know in any small way in these descriptions? Isn’t it time to do something about it?
