Cancer has become a condition so prevalent today that I believe most of you reading this have at least one person in your life who has faced, or is still facing cancer. For those who were told by the doctor that they have cancer, the question that is usually asked is, "Why me?" This is especially so, if the person with cancer has led a healthy lifestyle in terms of diet and exercise and does not have any family history of cancer.

So why do people get cancer?

According to the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention, research shows that at least 85% of all diseases are caused by unresolved emotions. That's a surprisingly high percentage isn't it?

Yet, while there are many kinds of treatments for cancer, both traditional medical treatments and natural therapies such as detox and juice diets, there are only a few that focus on dvelving into the emotional causes of the illness and healing the roots of the problem. There are the exceptions of couse, one of the more famous ones being Brandon Bays, the author of the inspiring book and healing modality The Journey.

Brandon Bays was a motivational seminar leader trained under well-known guru Anthony Robbins, helping many people for many years. She walked her talk and led the healthiest life such as eating organic foods and doing regular meditation. So it was a big shock to her when she found out that she had a basketball-sized tumour in her stomach, and the only option given to her by the doctor was chemotherapy.

Being a believe
of the holistic approach, Brandon Bays told the doctor to give her 3 months to try other natural healing methods, and for the next 3 months, she went for intensive detoxes, organic juice diets, deep-tissue massages, meditations and everything else that she could think of. All to no avail. The tumour did not get bigger but it still remained.

Time was running out and she was almost ready to give up, when she went for a massage session, during which the massage therapist asked her to imagine the tumour in her body. Through the massage therapist's guidance, by doing so, she accessed a painful childhood memory where she released a lot of emotions and was able to allow forgiveness for the involved persons. After that, her tumour "miraculously" disappeared. From then on, she developed a technique called The Journey, which she and other Journey practitioners used on countless of people in the world, many of whom also successfully healed their cancers and other serious illnesses.

The truth is emotion is really energy in motion, and when we do not acknowledge our emotions or release them in some way, the energy becomes stuck in some area in our bodies, like stones in a river that was once flowing smoothly. With long-time accumulation of these stones in a river, the water stops flowing and becomes stagnant and murky. In the same way, when there is accumulated stuck energy in our bodies, we start to experience pains and aches, and if we don't look into what is causing the pains and aches, finally, they can develop into cysts, fibroids and cancer tumours.

The good news is, there ARE healing modalities such as Jou
eywork and EFT that can heal unresolved emotions and allow the energy in the body to flow smoothly once more. I am not saying that other healing methods don't work, but if it is true that 85% of all illnesses are caused by unresolved emotions, then it would definitely be worthwhile looking into therapies such as Jou
eywork and EFT so that you can heal the cancer on more than one level.

EFT can also help the person with cancer to deal with all the emotional turmoil and stress that comes with facing cancer and going through the conventional treatment process, which can often be very painful and frustrating. I had a session with a lung cancer patient today and she told me about the pain in her leg, a side-effect from the radiation treatment, as well as a heavy feeling in her heart, as she felt like a burden to her family and that life is meaningless. With some EFT tapping, the pain in her leg and the heavy feeling in her heart both disappeared, and she no longer felt depressed and frustrated. She even had renewed optimism that she would recover from her cancer!

She was also very happy to learn to use EFT on her own, and I believe that having a tool that she could use on her own to cope with pain and negative feelings definitely empowered her to feel more in control of herself, something which is very important to any of us, especially when you are dealing with cancer and it can sometimes feel as if you are no longer in control of your body.

For those of you who experience pains and aches on a regular basis, it would be a good idea to get some emotional healing done. After all, prevention is the best cure. By clearing all the stuck energies in your system, you will be keeping your health in tip-top condition, and you will feel happier too.

If you have loved ones or friends of loved ones who are facing cancer, please forward this article so that they may have another perspective on how to treat their cancer. Who knows, it may just save their life!
