What do the LEDs on Netgear EX7000 extender indicates?

Power LED

1. Solid Green: Your Netgear WiFi extender is receiving the power supply.
2. No light: No power is going to your Netgear EX7000 extender. So, for this, you have to make sure that your Netgear EX7000 AC1900 extender is properly plugged into a working power source.

Connection Lights

5 GHz LED

1. 5 GHz Green: Your Netgear range extender has an optimal 5 GHz connection to your main router.
2. 5 GHz Amber: Netgear EX7000 AC1900 range extender has a good 5 GHz connection to your WiFi router.
3. 5 GHz Red: Your Netgear AC1900 extender has a poor 5 GHz connection to your router. So, to fix the issue, make sure that your Netgear device is placed near to your WiFi router.
4. 5 GHz Off: Your WiFi extender does not have a 5 GHz connection to your router.

2 GHz LED

1. 2.4 GHz Green: The range EX7000 extender has an optimal 2.4 GHz connection to your router.
2. 2.4 GHz Amber: Netgear AC1900 extender has a good 2.4 GHz connection to your router.
3. 2.4 GHz Red: Netgear AC1900 EX7000 range extender has a poor 2.4 GHz connection to your router. To fix this, place your Netgear device in reach of your WiFi router.
4. 2.4 GHz Off: Your Netgear extender does not have a 2.4 GHz connection to your router.

Link LED

1. Green: Your range extender is connected to a device and ready to connect to Netgear_Ext.
2. Amber: Netgear EX7000 range extender has applied changes to the WiFi settings.
3. Off: Your extender is not connected to a device and can't perform Netgear EX7000 setup. To troubleshoot the issue, make sure that your device is connected to EX7000 using a WiFi or a wired Ethernet connection.

Ethernet Ports LEDs

1. 12345 on: When this light is green, there's a device that connected to your extender's Ethernet port.
2. 12345 off: When this light is off, there's no device connected to your device.

USB Indicator

1. On: A USB device is connected and detected by your Netgear WiFi range extender.
2. Off: No USB device is connected to your Netgear device.

On the off change if your Netgear extender has amber, red or no LED, you won't be able to perform Netgear Nighthawk AC1900 setup.

To setup Netgear extender:

1. Connect your Netgear EX7000 extender to your router using wired or WiFi connection. Make sure that both the device are getting a proper power supply.
2. Wait for a few minutes and connect a device to Netgear_Ext. Once connected successfully, the Device to Extender LED will become solid green.
3. Open an internet browser on your connected device and enter www mywifiext net in its address bar.
4. Click on the NEW EXTENDER SETUP and complete the fields on the Extender Setup screen carefully. Click on Next once you're done.
5. Netgear Genie screen appears. Click on WiFi Range Extender button.
6. Select your WiFi network whose range you wish to extend and click on Next once you're done.
7. Enter your password in the (network key) and click on Next.

Note: Change the SSID and passphrase of your Netgear WiFi EX700 extender (recommended).

8. Click on Next to save the settings.
9. Once you have saved the settings, connect your WiFi-enable devices to the Netgear EX7000 SSID and click on Continue.

Congratulations! You have successfully completed Netgear EX7000 setup process.

10. Click on Next to proceed with the registration process.
11. Once the registration of your Netgear EX7000 AC1900 extender is successfully done, click on Finish to complete the Netgear extender setup process.

Your Netgear EX7000 extender is properly configured. You can also use your extender's Ethernet ports to connect your wired devices such as gaming consoles, Smart TV, Bluetooth devices, or desktop computers.
