Aarupadai Veedu Medical College

Aarupadai Veedu  medical college was started in the year 1981 by Thirumuruga Krupananda Variyar Thavathiru Sundara Swamigal Medical Education and charitable trust, where the motion of the trust was to contribute the quality education to the society. The trust was founded by Dr. A Shanmugasundram
Initially, Aarupadai Veedu Medical College Pondicherry was affiliated to Pondicherry University. However, with the efforts and desire of being an independent education system, the medical college became a constituent unit of Vinayaka Mission's Research Foundation (Deemed to be University) in the year 2004. 
Aarupadai Veedu Medical College is striving hard to save its position of being listed in the prestigious medical colleges in Pondicherry.

Aarupadai Veedu Medical College is affiliated to Vinayaka Mission's Research Foundation (Deemed to be University) and is recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI).  

Courses Offered  

Undergraduate Medical Course: 
The UG medical course offered at Aarupadai Veedu Medical College Pondicherry is Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS course) with the duration of 4 ½  years followed by one-year internship. The annual seat intake is 150. 

Post Graduate Medical Courses:
The PG medical courses offered at Aarupadai Veedu Medical College are Doctor of Medicine (MD) and Master of Surgery (MS). The duration of PG medical courses is 3 years.

Undergraduate Medical Admission Process

Eligibility Criteria
Candidate seeking MBBS admission in Aarupadai Veedu Medical College Pondicherry must have
•    Completed 17 years of age as on 31 December of the year of MBBS admission
•    Must have passed in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Bio-technology at the qualifying Entrance Exam. In respect of the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (NCL), the minimum marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in qualifying examination shall be 40% marks for Unreserved and General-EWS Candidates. In respect of PwD candidates, the minimum marks in qualifying examination in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (or Botany & Zoology)/Biotechnology taken together shall be 45% instead.

MBBS Entrance Exam
NEET UG is a common MBBS entrance exam conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to MBBS course in medical colleges in India. To secure MBBS seat in Aarupadai Veedu Medical College Pondicherry, candidate has to qualify in NEET exam with the following percentile:
