SNAP (Symbiosis National Aptitude Test) is a popular MBA entrance exam conducted by Symbiosis International (Deemed) University. It is a common entrance exam for the 16 Symbiosis institutes which offers MBA/PGDM programs. The paper contains three sections, including
● General English
● Quantitative data interpretation and data sufficiency
● analytical & logical reasoning

SNAP has brought some changes in the exam pattern in 2020. They have entirely scraped off the general knowledge section. The exam paper will contain 60 questions with a time limit of 60 minutes. This year the exam is more focused on time management, speed, and accuracy. Every right answer will get one mark, whereas a negative marking of 25% will be done for every wrong answer. The candidates can appear twice this year for the entrance exam.

There are specific eligibility criteria every college/university follows for admission. The SNAP eligibility criteria for 2020 are:

1. A candidate complete graduation from any recognized University with a minimum of 50% average marks can appear in the SNAP exam.
2. Students who are in the final year can also appear, but their admission will only be considered if they obtain a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST)
3. A candidate who has completed their bachelor’s degree or equivalent courses from any Foreign University are required to gain an equivalence certification from the Association of Indian Universities

SNAP is mainly a speed-based test which tests the candidate’s accuracy under pressure and time management skills. A candidate should start preparing 3-4 months before the exam. This will help the candidate build their speed, and giving mock tests will help in time management. The exam is not as tough as NMAT, CAT, XAT, and if appropriately prepared there is a high chance of scoring well.

Once a candidate gets through the entrance exam, the admission process begins. There are three more rounds after the aptitude test. These rounds consist of group exercise, personal interaction, and written ability test. All the respective institutes fix a cut off for shortlisting candidates. The shortlisted candidates then receive a call for GE/PI and WAT. The final selection is done based on the academic record, performance in GE/PI, and SNAPS score.

The SNAP test dates for 2020 are:

20-Dec-2020
06-Jan-2020
09-Jan-2020

A candidate can give two attempts on any of these dates. For more information regarding the exam, one should refer to the college website.
