Before deciding to purchase this vehicle that I bought from a local Hyundai dealer, I scheduled a test drive on my prospective vehicles first. The Vancouver Hyundai dealers were very accommodating on the day of my test drive.

One Vancouver Hyundai representative accompanied me during the trial driving and he is friendly enough to answer my questions while I was busy behind the wheel. Test driving is one important step that you must not miss when you decide to buy a car.

Besides helping you find out if there are any defects in the vehicle that you are about to purchase, doing this can also let you have the feel of the vehicle while you drive. So what are the things that you need to know when you are about to test drive a car?

1. Decide what vehicles that you would be test-driving.

Yes, the customer is always king, like what Vancouver Hyundai dealers say, but please, don’t test the limits of salesperson’s patience and respect them too. Before going to a dealership, you should have already in mind what vehicle are you going to buy. Please limit the vehicles to two or three, and avoid pointing to any vehicle according to your whim.

You are not buying a tuxedo set or a cocktail dress, where you can just choose at random. You are buying a car and you need to test drive first before deciding on what model to to select.

So make up your mind in a way that when you arrive inside the showroom, what you can do is to just compare your best choices and pick the right one based on the outcome of your test drive.

2. Scrutinize the car well.

When you are inside the dealership, inspect the car vehicle before test driving, especially when you are buying a used car. Some salespersons may get too pushy, but realize the importance of making sure that the car is in good condition and take time scrutinizing the car.

Try to stop salespersons from introducing you to other cars which are more expensive or those which are not your type at all. Check the car for any defects, scratches, breakages, or dents. Call the attention of the attending dealer if you find any of these.

3. Don’t be shy when test-driving.

You can test the vehicle’s limits if you want to. Try to check the automaker or the hyundai dealer’s claims for example, if they are true. Determine how fast can the vehicle go, for example, from rest to 40 to 60 miles. Also see the efficiency of the brakes - can the vehicle stop immediately if you step onto the pedal? Feel how the car reacts when you shift gears and observe how the steering goes.

4. Compare the cars.

After carefully checking how well the cars perform through actual test drive, it’s time to finally decide and tell the Vancouver Hyundai dealers which car will be going home with you and stay in your empty garage.

When comparing cars, take note of what you have observed during the test drive, the quality or condition of the car parts, the features, and the overall performance.

Consider these criteria before you make a decision. Get the best from among the cars that you test drove. After all, test driving is about helping yourself find and decide on the best car for you.
Do not be fooled by mere appearances of vehicles - ask for a test drive from car sellers like Vancouver Hyundai chains. First impressions last - but they do not necessarily last forever. Try to feel how it is to drive the vehicle that you like by scheduling a test drive today.
