I believe music can play a very important role in our lives. Do you remember picking out your favorite love song with your boyfriend when you were a teenager? Or how about the breakup song, you know that sad song you played after you broke up with your boyfriend and although it was sad, you couldn’t help but play it over and over again.

When I was a teenager the sad breakup songs for me were Babe by Styx, and Sad Eyes by Robert John. I swear I must have played those records a million times. They were sad songs but in those teenage years it seems we really wanted to feel the pain. Then of course we got mad at the boy and the songs changed to Heartbreaker by Pat Benatar.

I remember one of my favorites with one boyfriend was Waiting For A Girl Like You by Foreigner. We also had our favorite songs that didn’t involve boyfriends. Just fun songs that we loved, but either way it seems we played our favorite records over and over again, singing our hearts out.

The point I’m trying to make is how much of a role music plays in our lives and what we can learn form it. I believe in the same way we played our favorite records over and over again we can do that same thing with improving our lives today. Even young children who drive us nuts while listening to the Barney song over and over again, show us the importance of repetition. Although it doesn’t make us feel good hearing Barney several times a day, we can see that our children enjoy it, and they memorize the song word for word and it makes them happy.

I believe we should write our own special song and list all the great things we want in our lives and sing it over and over again until it becomes that catchy Barney song. You don’t have to be a professional songwriter, use your imagination and think about the dreams you have for yourself. What do you want for your life that you don’t have yet? Write it all down and don’t hold back. If you want a great job, or a great mate, whatever your heart desires write it down so you can create your song. Once you get it all written down, take a little time to pick a song you like or make up your own tune, and start singing.

Don’t worry if you’re not a great singer, the idea is to sing your song over and over again until it becomes that Barney song. Make it so catchy that you will enjoy singing it and have fun with it. Play that record over and over again until you believe what you’re singing. They key is to believe what you’re singing and make it a part of your daily life each day until what you’re singing about becomes a reality for you. Why not have a little fun while creating the life of your dreams, what do you have to lose? Creating the life of your dreams doesn’t have to be so serious and scientific, I believe it can be fun, fabulous, and a great way to write that number one hit that shoots straight to the top of the charts for you.
