No matter what you put on a web page, blog, Ezine or social site, if these three things are missing, you will not be successful in building your network marketing business. The good news is this: these are not hard. The problem is neglect, forgetfulness, a lack of understanding or a failure to get a basic education in building a MLM business on the Internet.

1) The first thing you must not forget is to use keywords properly. No matter how great your Ezine, blog or Squidoo lens may be, if the right keywords are not there or if they are in the wrong place, your work will not be effective.

Now if you’re like me, you will not like writing while at the same time maintaining a keyword mindset. I doesn’t feel genuine when I do that. I don’t like hype and I don’t like writing like a salesman. So, it is very easy for me to ignore this point—to my detriment.

But I have a suggestion, ignore keywords while you write. What? Isn’t this what I must NOT do? Yes and no. Ultimately, in the final product, they must be there. But when you are speaking from your heart, forget them. Be genuine in your thinking and it will show up in your writing. However, after you are significantly done with your article, then you must go back and think keywords. Now you MUST rework, rephrase your material and get the keywords in there. Why? Because if you don’t your work will NOT show up when people type in those keywords in the search engines. And in fact, it’s all about showing up on those pesky search engines.

And one other thing, make sure you get those keywords in the headline and first paragraph. Notice the headline to this article. The words “Network Marketing” were added after the head line was written. And notice “network marketing business” and “MLM business” in the first paragraph, you guessed it; they were added later as well.

So, don’t write artificially, write naturally but then, before you finish, take the time to get the keywords in the article and in the right place.

2) The next thing I want to talk about is “links.” The point is basic, if your articles do not contain links to your critical site(s), i.e. web page, landing page, etc then your work is lost in cyber space. As great as it is, it cannot benefit you because it cannot direct people to you and what you are doing. This is simple and easy to do. Take the time to focus and ponder just how you want to funnel interested people to your decision making pages. It is time well spent.

3) Write like you want to share, help or educate your reader. On the negative side of that statement Do Not try to sell them anything. Give your reader something of value—for nothing. Create a situation whereby they would be inclined to be grateful for what you have done for them. Ask nothing in return. Just be there if they have more questions about how to be effective in marketing on the Internet. Brand yourself as an expert and as a friend. This is called attraction marketing and it is very effective in a world screaming hype, hype, hype on every page.

Your work can come to nothing if you miss these three simple points. None of us want to waste time, but failing to pay careful attention to keywords, links and valuable content will doom you to failure.
