Submitter's Note:
This article (in point form) is based on an excellent motivational,
up-lifting and inspiring book by Glenn Bland (Living Books, Tyndale House Publishers, Inc. Wheaton Illinois, USA, 1972). Though written from a rather "religious" viewpoint, I believe the principles are eternal; so I am sharing the contents of this work in the spirit of
encouraging and hopefully even inspiring those people, who really
want to achieve their fullest potentials, to achieve success and happiness to read this book, BELIEVE...and surprise themselves what happens.

Thank you sincerely, Mr Bland for sharing your practical insight, words of wisdom and especially inspiration, which I'm passing on in the form of this series of articles from my notes taken from your book, as I study the connection (overlap) between mind and spirit, the relationship between psychology (science of the mind) and the spiritual world, what we call 'God'.

1. Let God (or whatever you understand to be a Higher Power) guide you - get out of the way and let the great universal creative mind of God, the Creator of the Universe give you direction - have FAITH!

2. Establish a faith period - set aside 30 mins a day each morning to engage in meditation or planning.

3, Crystallise your goals - decide on specific goals you want to achieve and keep them before you each day.

4. Make a plan of ACTION - develop a blueprint for achieving your goals and a target date for their accomplishment.

5. Develop a burning desire: A strong desire for the things you want will motivate you to action. Be enthusiastic!

6. Believe in yourself - you can accomplish anything, but only if you believe you can. You have God-given talents and abilities; so use them.

7. Never give up. Success comes to persistent people! Successful people do the things that faiulures don't like to do.

This may involve change (great). Strive for BALANCE in your life. True success avoids extremes.

The human mInd is the last great unexplored "continent" on the earth. Your mind can conceive of any idea you will ever need. Let your mind soar, as it was divinely designed to do, to accomplish big and important things.

Our Thoughts:

You are the sum total of your thoughts.

We become what we think about. Emerson: "A man is what he thinks about all day long."
Roman emperor Marcus Aurelius: "A man's life is what his thoughts make of it."
William James: "The greatest discovery of my generation is that human beings can alter their lives by changing their attitudes of mind."
"As a man thinks in his heart, so is he."

We can use the law for good or evil - the CHOICE is yours. It's the world (law) of Cause and Effect: ie. for every action there is a consequent reaction (or "As you sow, so shall you reap").

We do not need to change others, we need to change OURSELVES. Other people change as we change our thoughts about them. Right thinking - establish new habits. Your habits make you.

The first step in acquiring success doctrine is making the DECISION: to be happy, successful and possess great wisdom. Also a commitment is needed. Program your thinking - it's a gradual process and may take from 1-3 years, depending on your ability.Thoughts have great power...and your thoughts make your reality. Be a POSITIVE person at all times.
The Bible says: "Wisdom gives: A long, good life - riches - honour - pleasure - peace."
- Proverbs 3:16-17
"He who loves wisdom loves his own best interest and will be a success."
(Proverbs 19:8)
You gain wisdom by becoming a student (of life). You read, you study, you listen and you must do those things each day on a planned and organised basis. Books are a great source of success doctrine - ensure that they become a part of your life - "eat, sleep and drink" this success doctrine. It is good for the soul. "I, wisdom, wil make the hourse of your day more profitable and the years of your life more fruitful."
(Proverbs 9:11)
Just believe and these promises are there for the taking.
Step 2: You will become 'success orientated' when you have success doctrine foremost in your mind. One who possesses the wisdom of the ages - a person who believes.

Step3: You can find peace and inner happiness, as soon as you possess success doctrine and success oriented. It's a 'success consciousness'. Because you completely understand the Creator and His natural laws, your life will be in complete harmony with the world around you. This generates an inner peace and happiness, that will radiate forth like the glow of a candle in a window on a dark night. Inner happiness and many blessings which accompany it will be yours. Just believe!
