Many struggling filmmakers have big ideas, but may find their projects postponed indefinitely while they struggle to find funds.

However, one company, Commonwealth Capital Advisors, a 10-year-old investment banking advisory firm, released a new software module, FILM Producer, which could help revolutionize the creation of film production companies, film projects and film funds.

FILM Producer is an addition to the highly acclaimed Financial Architect, a software-based system for capitalizing operating companies that simplifies equity financing for start-up and early-stage companies.

The easy-to-use software-based FILM Producer generates the required securities-offering documents and investor leads, which enable start-up and early-stage film producers, film production companies, film projects, film funds and motion picture studios to raise and manage an unlimited amount of capital for film acquisition and production.

"The goals of Financial Architect, and the new module we're announcing for film production companies, are simple," said Timothy Hogan, CCA's Chairman and CEO. "We want to help entrepreneurs involved in the film industry to significantly lower the costs and increase the speed of raising equity capital. Just as important, we want to provide film producers and their professional management teams with an easy-to-use expert system that will enable them to choose the right deal structure for the capital they need, and manage those funds in compliance with federal and state securities laws, rules and regulations."

In an effort to keep film and TV productions in the U.S., Congress just increased the single-year deduction in production costs, from $15 million to $20 million, that film and TV productions may take if the costs are incurred in economically depressed areas.

"We believe there's significant and growing demand among entrepreneurs for control over their financing strategies." said Hogan.
