Who’s your guide? Do you have an angel? We all have at least one, and its ourselves. That’s right, you are the single greatest influence in your life. The quality of your life is directly related to the quality of the choices you’ve made. It would be easy to wallow in the past and blame yourself for the poor choices you made in the past that may be causing you to struggle now, but blame is not what life is about. If your “self-talk” is full of blame, negativity, and self-defeatism, you are acting as your own worst enemy.

So what should you do, if for instance, you decide to improve your level of health and wellness? For starters, take a few deep breaths! Now take a few more. Deep breathing will open up your nervous system and your higher senses so you can have the clarity you need to raise your consciousness and change the polarity of your thinking. Next, talk to that guardian angel “you” and make a list of the new and better choices that you must make to get the results you want.

You don’t need a cabinet full of vitamins, minerals, and supplements to realize optimal health. However, if you determine you need help with your list, with setting goals, and with understanding how to achieve them, find a coach to help you. You can realize great improvements in your health and well being by changing your attitude, and a Health Coach can then help you change your life. Here’s how:

• by providing the reflection you need to have proper perspective on your life
• by helping you to determine what goals you need to set to achieve your objectives
• by helping you to develop the tools you need to attain your goals
• by helping you correct your course along the way

No matter the problems you have, you don’t have to solve them alone. Change your internal dialogue and support yourself in a positive manner. We need “little successes” like simple nutritional, fitness, relaxation, and other goals that are not necessarily easy, but that we can certainly achieve. These little successes give us a sense of renewal, a fresh start, and positive energy to take on the next task, and the next and so on.

You don’t have to undertake a long list of massive tasks to change your life. Quite the contrary, by steadily collecting successes with the smaller goals, you achieve the bigger ones, easily and effortlessly.

To me this is like fishing. I like to come home a with a few smaller ones each and every time I go out to fish, rather than most often coming home empty handed because I was trying to catch the “big one”. That’s not to say that reeling in the “big one” isn’t ever a great thrill, and probably more memorable than catching all the little ones. But fishermen don’t make their living from just catching the big fish; they have to catch a lot of little ones in between to survive. For you and I, our future is dependent on creating a steady lifestyle in order to develop the future we wish to have. Most of our success will be built on “little ones”… with a few “big ones” in between!
