Look back over the past 50 years. How many politicians in your country deserve a place in the history books? How many of those deserve it for the positive things they did?

Imagine you are the president of the United States, and at the end of four years you have achieved only eight things:

You reversed the trend in global climate change.
You achieved universal healthcare for all Americans.
You revamped the income tax code so that it is understandable and easy to administer.
You developed a great relationship between the U.S. and the countries and peoples of the Islamic world, making America loved and respected abroad.
You kept the young men and women of the U.S. military out of harm’s way.
You reversed the trend in obesity in America’s youth.
You balanced the budget and created a surplus.
You stopped the partisan bickering among our political parties, getting them to focus on a common vision of our future.

Forget the sound bites! Forget your speaking points! Forget pollsters and political strategists! You would win reelection without ever running a campaign!

Two things a year may not sound like much, but it is the stuff that legends are made of.

For that matter, after 50 years, Mahatma Gandhi, called “The Great Spirit” by the people of his time, accomplished all of one thing—the nonviolent liberation of India from British rule.

Do fewer things, but make them mean something.

Anthony Robbins put it this way, “The reason that most people fail in life is that they major in minor things.”

Truer words were never spoken.

Major in something major. That in a word is the secret to time management.

Doing fewer things means dropping the ball on everything else.

Drop the ball now!
