The invitations have started arriving, the lights are going up, the stores are playing Christmas music and people appear to be bracing themselves for family reunions. There is an air of unreality about all this: a case of people seeming to try too hard, of going through the motions without stopping to consider what is happening to their lives.

Increasingly, I listen to men and women who feel that their lives are running away without them being involved. They talk about life “getting in the way” of the important things, about the stress that threatens to overwhelm them, about the difficulty of finding an outlet to express themselves fully. Some don’t even have time to think about who they really are.

Recently I ran a workshop for couples. Most of the time, they practiced listening to each other in a way that people seldom listen. At the end of the day, I heard comments like “we never spend time to do this, there always seems so much to do”, or “this has been the first time in our marriage that we have really talked at this depth”, and perhaps the most moving statement of all, “feeling acknowledged like this by my partner has been wonderful; but even better was taking the opportunity to say how I feel.”

When we learn to listen to others, and when we learn to listen to and hear and understand and accept ourselves, something happens. In subtle and hugely important ways, we feel more fulfilled, more at peace and more able to manifest our greatest desires. The tools of Inner Balancing are the ones that enable such changes to come about. The beauty is that they are simple and can be learned.

You can learn them in a course, by individual coaching, or by distance learning. The next course will start in Calgary on January 26. You can call or e-mail to find out how you can become involved in the most powerful and effective set of personal development processes of all time. You can learn to become an Emotional Fitness Coach or Instructor and take your profession to new heights.

Take a look at the Inner Balancing Website for the latest news – and of course if you don’t yet have the Award-winning book “The 9 Steps to Emotional Fitness” now is the time to treat yourself and your friends. You can purchase it direct from the Website and it will be delivered in time for Christmas while stocks last.
