The first two traits that you must work on and develop if you are to ever realize happiness and success and wealth in all areas of your life are clarity and desire. These are the foundation of your path toward success and without them you are destined for failure. As the foundation is the most important part of a house, and a poor foundation can bring the most beautiful of homes down, building a poor foundation within yourself on the path toward happiness will also bring your inner house down. Take the time necessary to work on your clarity and your desire. Take as much time as you need to because these are the essential first steps toward acquiring everything you want. They are the most important ingredients when working with the law of attraction.

The first of these foundational steps is clarity. Clarity for what you might ask. I already know what I want you might say. Well, that may be true, and it may not be. Regardless of whether it is or not, I highly recommend you make sure you have dotted all your I's and crossed all your T's. You must make sure that you are completely, perfectly, totally clear about what you want. Take the time to really go into detail about what you want. If you want a brand new car, know the color of every part of that car. The type of seats. The year of the car. The number of miles on the car. The exact condition of the vehicle. The condition of the motor. Automatic or manual. The number of gears if it is manual. The color of the dash board and exactly what the gauges look like. Take the time to be completely clear about every single detail of what you want that concerns you. If there is something about what you want that you don't have a preference for, then fine, however, the more clear you can be the better your chances of attracting what it is you want.

After you realize what it is you want and are clear about it, write it down in complete detail. Many of you might ask why you have to write it down, you know what you want. The reason for writing it down is simple. It is a constant reminder when placed some where that you have to look at it, and it makes what you want more real. Be sure to write it in the present tense and not in the future tense. This makes it yours in the present. Writing it down is the first physical step toward getting what you want. Make sure to write it down. 90% of the time that people don't get what they want, they have not taken the time to write it down. I talk to people all the time who are asking me why they aren't getting what they want when they are doing the steps to get there, and 99% of the time they never took the time to write down what they want. Write it down, it is much easier than dealing with the headache of not writing it down and trying to remember all the details.

The topic of desire is a complicated one. Desire is different to different people, and it is completely an experience. I honestly believe that most people haven't truly expreienced desire. The closest most people ever come to desire is longing for someone they met to love them. If that is what you have to use as a reference point then so be it, but find something that you can relate to about what desire feels like. Desire is the fuel of accomplishment. It makes us feel alive and full of life. Desire gets us up earlier than we want to get up and keeps us up long after we wanted to be in bed. Desire touches us in every part of our body and makes us tingle with life. Desire burns in the pit of our stomache and causes our minds to race with possiblity. Desire is the fuel of success. It's what drives us to be more, to do more. Desire is a must, if you are to get what you want.

Without desire you have nothing more than a wishful thinking or a fascination with something. If you don't take the time to develop desire for you what you want, you really don't want it, and you won't get it. Desire causes us to go through any obstacle that gets in our way. Desire causes us to do what it takes to get what we want, to get the job done. Desire pulls at us and nags at us until we take action and make something happen. If you have a desire for something and don't take action on it every day, you will feel like crap. At times, if you don't do as much as you wanted to, even if there was no possible way to make it happen, you will feel like crap. Without desire, you can justify in your mind why you didn't get done what needed to be done and you will be ok with it. Desire is the driving force, the fuel of success. The more you focus on what you want, the more your desire will come out.

The way to develop desire is by truly putting emotion into getting what you want. You must find something you have a passion for now and use that emotion and carry it over into the other areas of your life. You have to take the time to think about what you want on a regular basis. The more you think about it and the more you develop a want for it, the more your desire for it will rise. The more your desire rises, the closer you get to taking action on acquiring it. Desire is developed by becoming all but obsessed with what you want. Find ways to constantly remind yourself about what you want. Take the time to visualize yourself having what you want and how that will feel. The more you can get into the role of actually having what you want, the more your desire will grow. These are all little steps toward developing your desire to have what it is you want. In the end, desire is a choice. Choose to want what you want and desire it with all your being, and then go after it.

In the next part of this series we will discuss advancement of knowledge and faith. The next two traits of success and happiness. Take the time to develop clarity about what you want and write it down. These two steps are essential if the other steps are to work. Also take the time to really build up your desire to have what you want. You have to have a burning inside of you that can't wait to do something to move closer to what you want. As we find ourselves constantly thinking about someone we want to fall in love with, you must find yourself falling in love with the life you want to live, the happiness you want to have, and the places and things you want to experience, see, and have.
