Sometimes, for days or weeks or even months, we get so busy with our lives. we get so caught up in our life, in our work and in ourselves that we lose sight of what is really important in life.
Sometimes we need to stop ... take a deep breath ... center ourselves, and put our life into proper prospective. Sometimes we just need to go back to the basics, and count our blessings.

The basics
Any day you wake up alive is a good day. If you are alive today count your blessings. If you have people in your life that you love, and who love you, count your blessings. If you are healthy count your blessings. If you are sane and sober count your blessings. If you can afford the basic necessities of life; food, clothing, shelter, medical insurance, transportation, cable TV, high-speed internet access, a cell phone, ice cream and chocolate, count your blessings. If you can pay your bills count your blessings. If you can pay your bills, and have money left over, count your blessings.

If you live in a country that allows it's citizens freedom of speech, life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, count your blessings.

If you are not dead count your blessings.

Beyond the basics
If you are working, make a decent living at it and actually like your work, count your blessings. If you have kids and are bringing them up properly, teaching them good values, seeing to it that they get a good education, and they turn out to be good kids and good adults, count your blessings.

If you are living a life that is meaningful, productive and fulfilling count your blessings. If you are satisfied and happy with your life count your blessings. If you are not satisfied and not happy with your life you can change it, starting today.
