Many people thought that crystal meditation means selecting a crystal and meditating with it. It’s more than that actually. Even though crystal is the key tool, there are area that you should not over looked.

In part 1, I will provide you 3 out of the 7 areas you should look into to succeed with crystal meditation. In part 2, I will share with you the remaining 4, so stay with me.

Simply put, meditation begins from working on your environment and ends with inner self management.

There’s a saying that goes, your inner world creates your outer world. In my opinion, the reverse is also true especially in meditation. If you are going to meditate in a cluttered environment, I don’t think you can settle down and focus well, since subconsciously you are constantly reminded that the surrounding is messy.

And that brings us to the first thing on the list…

1) Preparing Your Meditation Space
Ideally your meditation can take place anywhere as long as you can block out the distraction. However not many people can’t do that. So you may like to spend some time looking around your living environment, and identify locations where you can be free from distraction.

My 2 rules when I look for a place to mediate:

Rule 1: The place should be clean and tidy.
Rule 2: Well ventilated, as stagnant air may make you uncomfortable during your meditation session.

2) Dressing Right
Most people focus on getting the posture right, breathing right yet they don’t pay attention to dress comfortably for meditation. If you are not comfortable, I don’t think you can last very long in any meditation posture.

Put on clothing that is loose-fitting and allow you to breathe. Make sure that you do not wear anything that may hinder blood circulation.

3) Meditation Timing and Duration
You can meditate any time of the day, and any meditation duration is acceptable. Meditation is all about you. There is really no hard and fast rule. But I would suggest you to meditate during times of reasonably high energy than of low energy. Meditation involves energy circulation and focusing. If you are in an energy slump, you will probably doze off. This is especially true if you adopt the lying down mediation posture.

Also I would recommend every meditation session to be at least 20 minutes. But if you are a beginner, you may want to start with 5 minutes for each meditation session and allow yourself time to expand the meditation duration aiming for 20 to 30 minutes per session.

In the next article, I will go into the remaining 4 things you should look into to achieve success with crystal meditation. So watch out for it.
