Authors like Donald Trump, Martha Stewart, John Maxwell and others put out books based on their experiences, life examples, victories and struggles among other things. Facts tell, stories sell. It is easier to share life experiences because they come from within. They are yours. As you begin to share life experiences, your book will become much easier to do.

Doing a book is much easier than you think. Doing a book almost automatically vaults you into the expert status. A book is nothing more than a series of accounts held together by a theme. It doesn't have to be long and you probably have more material than you think. I love to read books, especially biographies and books on sports and business. However, no matter what the book is about, chances are it has these five things:

1. Mistakes
Nobody's perfect. Everyone makes mistakes and we can easily identify with them.

2. Obstacles
Some obstacles are already there; some we put in our own way. But that's life and we must overcome them.

3. Lessons Learned
The mistakes we make and the obstacles we have to overcome teach us lessons we need to learn.

4. Experiences
Your experiences are unique and invaluable. There is no substitute for them.

5. Success Stories
Success brings everything together. While success is great, we like to read about the struggle to get there. This gives us confidence that we can do it, too.

You probably have these things in your heart already. Now, you just have to put them on paper and sooner or later you'll have your book. It's that easy.
