Ok, yes I know. You are already pushing toward that goal. You have taken the initiative and considered the risks were well worth the reward. Honestly, you did not see this as a choice. Your heart and soul were calling you to reach for this new level. Things felt great initially. You were feeling bold, decisive, strong, courageous, smart, and powerful. Then the unexpected happened. Now, you are having one of those moments in life. It may be a brief circumstance or an experience that never seems to end.

Know this: You were made to handle everything that comes your way. You are built from stuff that is tougher than anything that could possible go wrong. Yes, I am talking about you. No seriously. You may consider it a coincidence but I know there is a reason you are reading these words. The thing is - you must remember these words while you are going through this tough situation. You have to know how to feel these words even when you do not feel these words. Let me tell you about 5 ways to kick doubt, disappointment and frustration and keep pushing toward that goal:

1. Remind Yourself Why It Matters Why are you doing this? What will happen if you stop pushing for this goal? How will things change for you and others if you achieve this? Chances are you had a big reason for taking on this challenge. What is it? You knew in your heart that this was something that must be done. Go back to that reason. Tell yourself about that moment where you decided to push forward. Your purpose has a way of refocusing your attention to the things that matter the most. A temporary frustration, disappointment or doubt is no match for a cause with a meaningful purpose.

2. Check Your Attitude Are you coming from a place of fear and lack? Are you acting like no one can help you or as if your resources are limited? Check yourself. Aaah! No, no, no we are not talking about what other people did or did not do. I am asking you to check yourself. Where is your attitude getting in the way? What messages are you telling yourself about what is possible? How are you being personally accountable for this goal? Use your energy to focus on what you can do to keep yourself in an attitude of gratitude, positivity, and responsibility. Instead of stressing about what is not happening, ask how can I make this happen?

3. Clarify The End Result So I am asking this next question from a place of love. Do you have a clear idea of what you want? No offense, someone had to ask. The clearer your vision, the easier it is to inspire focus, and motivation from yourself and those helping you. The more likely you are to be anchored in creating what you want. Clarity of direction makes it easier to recognize the need to make course corrections when things get off track. Spend some time deciding -or reminding yourself very specifically what this goal will look like when you reach it. How will you know that it is done?

4. Ignore The Naysayers Naysayers often mean well when they tell you to give up. Naysayers are often people who love you and simply want you to be happy. Their issue comes from them not understanding your purpose and being afraid that you will fail. If naysayers do not understand and share your vision, they will kill your dream out of the very best intentions. Thank them and accept their love as it was given. Ignore their fear-based suggestions. A naysayer always focuses on the doubt, disappointment and frustration you experience as reasons why you should give up already. Naysayers want the pain to end. They may not realize the pain is a temporary part of the process. Do not allow your internal or external naysayers to convince you to throw in the towel when things get tough. Allow your results to speak for themselves and after some time your naysayers will become your biggest supporters.

5. Put One Foot In Front Of The Other You may be saying how does that kick doubt, disappointment and frustration? Great question! You will be so glad you asked. The only thing separating a dreamer from a doer is ACTION. So many of us, I include myself in this, have failed to achieve something great in life simply because we did not take decisive action. You know why it matters. Your gratitude has set your mind right. You have a clear vision of what you want to achieve. You are shutting out the well intentioned dream killers. Now all you have to do is keep moving. The best way to move is to just put one foot in front of the other. Yes, it sounds simplistic. It actually is. We make it way more complicated than it has to be.

What is one thing you can do to take the next step? What feels like the right thing to do at this moment to build momentum or move a bit closer to your dream? Yes, the project is enormous. The road ahead is long and winding. You may not even know how you are going to get all of this done. Okay, so put one foot in front of the other and see where it takes you. Once you get focused on these small, powerful, forward motions, you will notice at some point that the doubt, disappointment, and frustration have been kicked to the curb. Now keep pushing!
