Are you a center of influence or are you constantly being influenced by other people. Being aware of these simple tools of mental influence can mean the difference between you getting what you want, or other people using you to get what they want.

5 Tools of Mental Influence

1.Reciprocity- When people do something for you or give you something, you feel naturally inclined to return the favor. Some people do this intentionally, while others do it naturally.

This concept falls in line with the basic principle of life: The more you give, the more you will receive.

2. Commitment- The longer you have been doing something, or the deeper you are involved, the more difficult it will be for you to stop. Leonardo Da Vinci said “It is easier to resist at the beginning than at the end.”

This is a powerful tool because it will cause a person to continue to do something even if they know it is wrong, bad, or harmful to them.

3. Scarcity- When we feel like there is a low supply of something, or that something is running out, it often causes us to take action to get that thing. This is also referred to as “Fear of Loss.”

4. Social Proof- This causes us to do something because everyone else is doing it. This is why the masses are broke and struggling, and following the same path of their predecessors like a bunch of cows to the slaughter.

5. Likeable- People do business with people that they know, like, and trust. The easiest way to get people to like you is by finding a way to relate to them, and by showing interest in them.

There are many things that influence us on a daily basis. These are some of the most common.

Also, you can not really control other people, but if you first learn to influence yourself, then your influence over others will grow.

Much Success,
