Having been at a place in my life where I no longer wanted to live I became intimate with God very quickly. I even challenged Him/Her/It. I was not looking for forgiveness, or mercy I was looking for someone to take over and “do” life for me. I had enough. Constant struggles, endless frustrations, countless bad choices. I was DONE! I was checking out, or so I thought. I was giving my sorry self back to the maker; I was defective. I even gave a threatening ultimatum; “Prove you are real to me, or else”. I was screaming out loud in my car as I drove at warp speed toward the abutment. I told God if there was any reason He could think of to spare me He best show up now.

Fast forward a few cuss words later I felt my foot coming off the gas and moving gently toward the break peddle. I also remember vividly the warmth that took over my body on that frigid November morning in 1996. I was thinking to myself this is just like some kind of movie. Here I am with the warmth of the white light that equaled the saved Soul. Happily all these years later here I am and still honoring the promise I made/make every day to God… to help people find their purpose and live it.

I know firsthand how truly connected we can all feel by spending a few moments each day visiting our Divine Source. Today I live a prosperous life filled with blessings and reverence.

Our connection to Spirit is truly what gives our lives purpose. By making daily “visits” to Spirit we are filling our spiritual gas tank. Just as a car runs poorly or not at all when its low on gas so do we when we are out of touch with Spirit. Here are some good indicators the check engine light for your Soul is on:

• irritability
• discontentment
• judgment
• fear
loneliness

The idea is to visit regularly so the light doesn’t come on. But, if it does do not judge simply BE with God and let Him do the work. Here are a few things I bring when I visit with Spirit.

• A loving heart
• Unconditional commitment
• An open mind
• All doubts/fears/insecurities
• A sense of humor

Some days you may show up empty on one or all of the above. That’s OK, God offers free refills. 
