Sometimes, my clients come to me and tell me: Tsvetanka, I read every article out there, I go to every single free teleseminar out there and I still can’t find clients. What am I doing wrong?… Here are the top 5 things:

1. Being vague about what you offer
There’s a very quick test – if an 8-year-old can’t understand what you do, your prospect will be confused as well. You definitely need to change that because what you really want is your prospect to spend more time on what are the benefits of what you offer and why they should choose you, not on: What is it again that you do?.

2. Not having different offers
You walk into a restaurant and you sit down on a table and the waiter comes to you and tells you: Do you want food? We offer food. Food is good for you? … Can you imagine this really happening? I can’t If that was me I’ll ask: I want to see your menu. I want to see what you offer. And of course restaurants have a menu. Does your business have a list of options?

3. Procrastinating and Excuse Making
I can’t make my mind over which one is more damaging to your business but cumulatively not doing things on time or with a huge delay and not recognizing that you are 100% responsible for your business results is the quickest way to get out of business. Remember, what you get in is what you get out. So, make sure that what you put in is most beneficial for your business.

4. Being unwilling to go through the awkward phase
Yep, I know you know it. It’s: asking for money, calling that prospect to check if they will sign up with you. You do it when you provide all that value but forget to make an offer. If you habitually do this – write this where you’ll see it daily: The pain of not asking for business if far greater than the pain of getting out of business.

5. Not setting up tracking / reminder systems
If getting clients is on your mind but you don’t actually put in the hours of actually doing something about it – like networking, promoting, educating yourself on the subject, then it’s just wasting your time. Your time is of utmost value because you ultimately want to use it for activities that generate revenue. The rest of it – systematize, track it, set reminders and ultimately – create more time.
