5 Mistakes Empaths Make in Business

Being an empath and entrepreneur presents a unique level of challenges. In today’s society the two terms together are almost considered an oxymoron. The messages echoed throughout the nation are about chasing success by any means necessary, stringent focus on getting your money, and separating your emotions from business. Well, these ideologies are in direct conflict with an empath’s essence. Empaths are the epitome of emotion. We feel everything, and I mean everything, very intensely. We absorb others energies -both positive and negative. Asking an empath to disconnect emotionally is like asking them to cut out their heart. We are one and cannot sever the two. Unfortunately, these conflicted messages often result in an inner battle that causes empaths to make costly mistakes as entrepreneurs.

The first costly mistake that empathpreneurs make is doing business like everyone else. Empaths aren’t like everyone else. Conducting business the way you sees it done on social media or because a coach told you to is counterintuitive. Your intuition is your golden ticket for success. If you deny or ignore it, then you’ll never reach your full potential. I don’t care if Oprah herself gives you business advice. If it isn’t in alignment with your soul, then you should ignore it. You simply can’t afford to play Follow the Leader when it comes to your divine purpose. You and your specific gifts are as unique as your fingerprints. So is the path to success that the Universe has created for you. That path will only be revealed to you one step at a time as you take inspired action based on divine downloads. Divine downloads are typically communicated through dreams, Aha moments, signs, intuition, and feelings. Many times you won’t be able to explain why you feel the way you do. That’s okay because you don’t owe anyone any explanation. As a empath you must allow your feelings and intuition to light your path.

There are so many empaths that hide their empathic gifts for one reason or another. This is the second most common mistake. You are here on this earth at this time to use your divine gifts proudly. When you do so you give others permission to do the same thing. As more lightworkers shine their light, it allows divine love to dispel darkness more and more. Coming out of the spiritual closet, as I call it, is bigger than you. It is for the greater good of mankind. It is how the battle between light and dark will be won. You have to trust and believe that no harm will come to you when you share your natural gifts with others. Don’t worry what others will think about you. You aren’t here for naysayers. You’re here to serve your very own unique tribe. They will celebrate and love you unconditionally. Now, I will say that there will be some people that you shouldn’t tell about your gifts. Your gut will tell you who they are when the time comes.

Another common mistake that empathpreneurs make is always saying ‘Yes’ to others. I say it time and time again, there are Givers and there are Takers in this world. As an empath, you’re naturally a Giver. You give light, joy, positive energy, and assistance to others. The Takers will try to take advantage of this and pull from you until you have nothing left to give. They will sap your soul dry if you let them. The only way to stop them is to say NO! This simple, two-letter word can be especially difficult for an empath to utter. When you gather your courage to actually say it, you’ll feel yourself grow stronger energetically, spiritually, and emotionally. It’s a wonderful tool for reclaiming your power. I recommend that you start small and build your No Muscle up over time. Remember, you don’t need to justify or explain your reasoning to anyone. Just say NO! It’s the first step in setting healthy boundaries in your relationships.

The fourth mistake is when empaths fail to employ an energetic security system. Most empaths are energetically open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This leaves them extremely vulnerable to energy vampires and attacks. Such attacks can put you out of commission for weeks at a time because they’re designed to knock you off of your divine path. They are dangerous distractions that dull your light. Unfortunately, darker energies will always try to attack you because that’s what they are here to do. However, you can protect yourself and minimize the damage they cause. One of the most effective ways to do this is by visualizing a reflective shield of armor around yourself.

Finally, empathpreneurs frequently operate in isolation because of how sensitive they are to other people’s emotions. You are a spiritual being having a human experience. A huge part of the human experience revolves around community and relationships. The majority of your lessons and growth will come from these areas. While you may believe that your self-imposed house arrest is a protective shield, it’s not. You’re stunting your growth and imposing limits on the infinite power within you. No one is liked by everyone and that definitely shouldn’t be your objective. Your focus should be set on attracting like-hearted individuals to commune with.

Being an empath and an entrepreneur is your divine assignment. While it may feel like a burden at times, the strategies above can help make your way easier. Everyone wins as you boldly shine your light and step into your power. You are a lightworker. You are a healer. You are a messenger. As a result, you’re not like other people and you should not try run your business like them. That’s like trying to put a square peg in a round hole. No matter how much force and resistance you apply, it just won’t work. Your journey as an empathpreneur will not be free of challenges, but it can be one filled with light, love, ease, and grace.
