BAJI RAO MASTANI

The Sanjay Leela Bhansali flick Bajirao Mastani is touted as an epic historic flick which portrays the love story of Peshwa Bajirao and his second wife Mastani. While the makers used forts and palaces for outdoor shoots, a huge chunk of the film was shot on the sets created for the movie at the Mumbai film city studios in Goregaon Mumbai.

DEV DAS

Sets of dev das were fancy, gigantic, breathtaking, and super expensive! if you remember the set of Chandramukhi's Kotha, was made around a lake, to replicate Benaras ghat, inside a Mumbai film city. while, for Paro's delicate stained glass house, 12,20,00,008 pieces of stained glass were used, and it took the makers seven months to build it!

OM SHANTI OM.

A 2008 super hit of the king of Bollywood indeed had beautiful & glamorous sets. Apart from Srk & Deepika Padukone the sets created will be remembered by the movie fans. Majority of the movie was shot in Mumbai Film City. The massive set of ‘om Shanti om’ which the main aspect of the movie was created & built inside film city for over a period of 6 months.

RAM-LEELA

This list includes another Sanjay Leela Bhansali movie “Ram Leela”. For the song "Nagada Sang Dhol", an expensive set was built in Film City, Mumbai, and even when Deepika Padukone got injured on the sets, she had to continue shooting the song simply because the set was super costly! In fact, director Sanjay Leela Bhansali set up a gym within the film's sets so that lead actor Ranveer Singh could work out regularly and not get delayed in the shooting.

WELCOME BACK

Remember Welcome Back? The squeal to 2007 famous Welcome director Anees Bazmee and included famous star Nana Patekar, John Abraham Anil Kapoor. Although Majority of the movie was shot in UAE, a small part of the movie was shot in Mumbai Film City. For this movie director, Anees Bazmee recreated Abu Dhabi's Emirates Palace in Mumbai's Film City to shoot a special song, Tuti Bole Wedding Di. The set was designed by art director Sailesh Mahadik. He took 20 days to complete it at a cost of approximately Rs 3.5 crore!
