In order for affirmations to be effective it is important to understand these 3 keys. Once you grasp these concepts you will be on your way to creating your life by design.

Key #1: Affirmations are much more than a written positive statement of what we want.

Many people get very excited when they are told that they can create an affirmation, repeat it to themselves on a daily basis, and it will magically appear. While there is some truth to this, most people grow annoyed and frustrated after a short while of repeating their "affirmation" while their life continues to plod along with the same old results.

Why is this? In order to understand why this happens it's important to understand what an affirmation truly is.

An affirmation is anything you affirm to be true about yourself and your current situation.

Think about this...when you are "affirming" that you earn a million dollars a year, does it feel true to you? Be honest with yourself. If you feel like you are lying to yourself you are actually affirming the opposite of what you want. This is why so many people try affirmations only to get discouraged and eventually give up.

When you feel good or bad about something, that feeling is an affirmation.

When someone upsets you, that "upset" feeling is an affirmation.

When you have a sense of accomplishment, that feeling is an affirmation.

When you have a picture or movie in you mind...you are affirming those images and ideas.

When you talk to yourself, internally or externally, you are affirming.

Whatever you hold within you determines the quality of you life experience. This leads us to the second key...

Key #2 You are always using affirmations

Now that we understand what an affirmation really is, it's clear that we are always affirming to ourselves. The key here is to now become aware of what we are affirming.

The best way to get started with this to make a note for yourself to check in with your feelings at least 3 times a day. You can start in the morning when you first wake up. What's the first thing you think about in the morning? If it's something along the lines of "Ug, I don't want to get up and go to work and deal with my shitty boss", how do you suppose that affect the rest of your day?

You will know that you are affirming the negative by how you feel. If you catch yourself doing this, simply stop and ask yourself "What do I want?"

Questions are powerful because when we ask ourselves questions our mind immediately begins searching for the answer or solution.

A good question to ask yourself from the example above might be "How can I make this a great day?" or "What can I do today to be happy?"

You can even ask yourself questions like "Why am I so happy?" "Why am I so healthy?" "How does love and abundance keep flowing to me so effortlessly?"

Get the idea?

To paraphrase a quote from Anthony Robbins:

"Our lives are determined by the quality of questions we ask ourselves."

Key #3: Heal yourself.

Many of us have been affirming bad stuff for so long that it can be difficult to see the positive. This is where I use powerful tools such as FasterEFT.

As my mentor, Robert Smith says, if your cup is full of bad stuff, how can you have any room left for the good?

Begin to heal yourself by tapping out the negative feelings, memories, and emotions, and replacing them with positive.

According to the Law of Attraction, what you affirm to be true about yourself determines the quality of your life.

By clearing out the negative and replacing it with the positive you are becoming more whole...who you really are.

Who you are is Love...pure and simple.

You deserve your best life now.
