How To Think
When Things Disturb You

We must learn to listen. If you listen quietly, you will hear the still, small voice from within. Hear and listen for evidences of truth around you. First, learn how to relax. Start by heaving a huge sigh of relief; then, inflate your lungs. Take at least six deep breaths, think pure thoughts: How high is that mountain? How blue is the sky? How clean is the air?
Allow yourself to think these pleasant thoughts of universal surroundings: how beautiful the mountains are, and how harmonious the song of the bird. Thus you become more harmonious with your surroundings. “How could I have let anything disturb me? Why don’t I listen to the Universal Law of peace and harmony instead of this disturbing thought?”
Now you must let go. Imagine yourself floating on a fleecy white cloud. Imagine you are lying in a hayloft. At this time you cease to exist among the negative thoughts that are disturbing you. It is when you say, “I exist in spirit now; I am allowing my spirit – my soul – to soar. Now I shall listen to the still, small voice within – that of my higher self. I shall feel and sense great love. I shall not allow myself to harbor any resentment against any person, or for any cause to disturb me whatsoever.” If you feel resentment for any person, say, “I don’t want ill health or any harm to come to this person. I want only this person’s happiness. May The Creator bless this individual.”
Then say to yourself, “I observe these Laws of Truth. I am rewarded by the Masters of Truth. Now I shall observe these thoughts whenever I am displeased by any negative thought. I shall wipe it out of my mind by observing the universe and its laws.”
“I shall allow myself to see the stars bright at night. I shall observe and respect the heavens above me studded with stars that illuminate the way safely back home to the Father.”
“I shall observe His laws. My destiny depends upon my observing these laws. I will sense a new beginning for the universe as well as for myself as I observe the laws, as I progress on my way down the pathway of life.”
In observing these truths, I set into motion a life worth living without fear. The Creator leads us straight forward into eternity. Our faith and trust in Him never waivers.
Freedom of thought eliminates all negativity. If we say we are free men, we are free by declaring we are free. We are observing the Laws the Father sent to us. These Laws help us avoid the holocausts that may occur. If we establish the kingdom of heaven on this planet upon which we live, then we continue to live. The law we establish is the kingdom of heaven for all of mankind.
For instance, if I salute the flag each time I see it, won’t it inspire others to salute the flag? Similarly, will we not establish the kingdom of heaven here upon the earth plane by establishing the kingdom of heaven within our own minds?
There is no end to these ideas of how to establish a kingdom of heaven within our minds or how to think when things disturb us. We have to learn how to escape to a haven of refuge within our minds.
Harbor no ill will against any man. Allow everyone his freedom of thought; permit him to act as he will.
You must learn to ignore insults or lies, or injuries. You must refuse to think about them or to speak of them. Some men are depraved. Even though it might not seem so today – what about tomorrow? Will the culprit be filled with remorse or truth? Who is to judge? Set all discord aside and bless them. Place them and the discordant incidents into the hands of the Creator. In so doing, you follow your own directions and you cannot be harmed.
