Massage Therapy Careers and Helping Professionals Expert

The call to help others is filled with oportunities to examine your unconscious reasons for wanting to help others. In doing so you can deepen your work with clients as you deepen your understanding of yourself.

With 20 years experience as a massage therapist, my massage work has lead me to a deeper understanding of what it means to heal and the role of a massage therapist in that process. I now am leading and organizing peer supervision groups in the massage profession and working with massage therapists to have a deeper understanding of the therapeutic relationship and healing. Peer supervision groups are one of the most important forums for creating your ideal massage practice. While massage school teaches you to do massage, peer supervision helps you become a massage therapist.

As a sole propieter, small business owner or employee of a massage business, the challenge of making of living while doing something that you love is really due to the false beliefs (which are often unconscious) about yourself. The massage profession and massage schools also buys into these beliefs and makes it harder for massage therapists to be successful. It doesn't have to be that way! You can be a sucessful massage therapist while finding the rewards in learning to be of service.

Participating in peer supervision groups can assist you in becoming more aware of these beliefs so that you can begin to change them.

This phenomenon occurs in any and all relationships but has a way of becoming more pronounced because of the manner in which we work with clients on a one to one basis. The power differential brings up the past and also the thing that can provide healing.

I also specialize in creating informational websites and work with massage therapists and others who are looking to supplement their income or make a living online. I use and promote Site Build it! which is an all in business development software and webhosting system in one. Because the internet is all about information, information, information...creating a site with high quaility information on a highly sought after topic can be lucrative for those with patience and perseverence.
